HOW TO INSTALL FYNT HARDWOOD FLOORING
A detailed installation & care guide
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Please read this guide in full before installation. Engineered hardwood is a natural wood product, so changes in temperature, humidity, and light can naturally affect its appearance and dimensions.
Before installation begins, all exterior doors and windows should be installed, and painting and decorating work should be completed.
REVIEW YOUR ORDER
- Check all planks in daylight for visible damage or recognisable faults.
- Review the colour, structure, and appearance of each plank.
- Sort the planks before installation to achieve the desired colour and floor pattern.
- Always use planks from different packages together to create a balanced appearance.
REQUIRED MATERIALS
FOR INSTALLATION
- Hammer
- Saw
- Tapping block
- Pull bar
- Spacer wedges
- White D3 glue
- Adhesive
- Notched spatula
- Relative insulating underlay with vapour barrier
- Cleaning wipes
STEP BY STEP FLOORING INSTALLATION

START IN THE CORNER
Begin installation in the right corner of the room, with the tongue at the end of the first plank facing left.

INSTALL THE FIRST ROW
- Disassemble the first row and apply white D3 glue to the end groove of each plank.
- Interlock the planks and make sure the joints are tightly closed. A tapping block and hammer can be used with controlled taps to bring the planks together.
- Immediately remove excess glue from the surface with a damp cloth.
- Use spacer wedges to maintain the required distance from the wall and hold the first row securely in position.

CONTINUE WITH THE NEXT ROWS
- The off-cut from the last plank of one row can be used to start the next row, provided the end joints have an offset of at least 40 cm.
- From the second row onwards, apply glue to the groove along the long side and end of each plank.

MAINTAIN EXPANSION GAPS
- The last row may need to be cut to follow the shape of the wall while maintaining an expansion gap of approximately 15 mm.
- Cut-outs around radiator pipes and similar fixed objects should also include an appropriate expansion gap. These gaps can later be covered with suitable materials but should not be filled.

COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION
- Once the glue has fully set, remove the spacer wedges and install the skirting boards.
CLEANING AFTER INSTALLATION
- Remove debris from the floor.
- Prepare the recommended cleaning solution according to its instructions.
- Apply it with a well-wrung microfiber mop or pad.
- Work along the wood grain.
- Avoid excessive water or oversaturation.
- For heavily soiled floors, a suitable buffing machine and pad may be used.
CLEANING & CARE
- Avoid leaving the floor damp or wet for long periods.
- Use dry cleaning methods whenever possible.
- For damp cleaning, use a well-wrung lint-free cloth or mop.
- Do not leave wet patches on the flooring.
- Do not use steam cleaners.
- Do not use scouring creams or powders.
- Avoid contact with chemicals such as solvents, disinfectants, hair dye, acetone, nail polish remover, felt pens, and ballpoint ink, as these may cause permanent stains.
- Always follow the usage instructions for cleaning and care products.
- Test a cleaning product in an inconspicuous area before using it on the entire floor.
