3 Engineered Hardwood Flooring Collections to Discover at the Relative FW Showcase

Tycos Trade Day 2026

Relative FW recently participated in a trade show just two days ago, where it featured a variety of flooring and surface materials that can be used in modern residences and workplaces.

September 18, 2026

Although ceramic tiles, recycled stone, and terrazzo surfaces were part of the showcase, the most prominent was certainly the engineered hardwood. With a wide range of styles, including wide planks and even herringbone-patterned wood, the showcase highlighted the variety available in wood flooring.

Below is the list of three engineered hardwood floor collections showcased by Relative FW.

Flyt: Clean, Wide-Plank Flooring

The Flyt range will appeal to those who appreciate minimalist wood flooring because of the wider plank format, which makes rooms feel more spacious, and the matte lacquer finish, which ensures that the flooring looks soft and not too glossy.

The flooring comes in a total of five colors, and examples of the available colors include Vortex and Current from the Relative FW range. The flooring combines the look of natural wood with the stability of engineered flooring.
It is easy to picture this flooring in modern homes where the flooring is intended to work with the overall decor rather than dominate it.

Sumo: When the Floor Becomes a Feature

Sumo took the concept of wide-plank flooring further. Sumo wide planks are up to 16 inches wide and can stretch up to 25 feet in length.

Being able to see the format in real life helps to appreciate its qualities. The floor can provide a feeling of flow because there are fewer joints that are seen.
Sumo is ideal for large residential interiors, commercial applications, or projects where the flooring is meant to be a statement on its own without having to use complex patterns.

Chico: A Slim Herringbone Look

Not every room will require planks that are wide in size. The Chico range presented an entirely new perspective at the event with its slender herringbone design.

The slimmer boards add dynamism to the floor surface and lend a modern twist to the classic herringbone design. According to Relative FW, Chico makes for a versatile choice for modern interiors, and it’s not hard to understand how the design could suit rooms in which there is a need to bring some visual interest to the floor surface.
Chico gives homeowners and designers an alternative way to introduce a patterned floor beyond the regular straight-laid design.

Beyond Hardwood: Tiles at the Showcase

While engineered wood was certainly featured, the event showed how different flooring materials complement each other.

The Laguna collection includes hand-extruded ceramic tiles inspired by water, with variations in each tile adding to its handmade look. The Tera line, for example, combines the look of ceramic tiles with the feel of stone.

If something more unique is sought after, the Spezie collection brings a modern twist to terrazzo, with mineral fragments set in a neutral background. Recycled stone is incorporated into the collection through the Pigmento collection.

A Showcase of Different Design Directions

One lesson learned from the Relative FW event is that flooring need not be treated as something that simply blends in. Wide-plank engineered hardwood creates an open feel, herringbone adds motion, and tiles create texture and contrast.

The event provided an interesting look at the process of selecting flooring based on the character of a space as opposed to using the same type of flooring throughout. With engineered hardwood taking centre stage and tile collections adding variety, the showcase provided many ideas for future residential and commercial design projects.
